Jamaica is very special to me. On my first swimwear shoot in Jamaica I met my wife, 2 years later we got married in a little church in the Hills of Brownstown, St Anne. Some people call Jamaica the mother of all Caribbean islands. It’s lush and green, wild and beautiful. Unfortunately it also has it’s rough sides. Cities like Kingston and even Montego Bay are not the kind of places where you should walk around with a camera in your hand. While the beaches may not be as spectacular as in the Bahamas, the Maldives or the Seychelles, some of the resorts (for example in Negril) are quite beautiful. The custom situation is similar to Mexico or the Bahamas. You need to make arrangements in advance and make sure you have all required documentation. It’s best to talk to the tourist board and the embassy before traveling, this will guarantee smooth entry into the country. I had a production in Jamaica where we shot an entire chain of resorts, traveling to a new luxury resort every couple of days for about 3 weeks. Nice!
